Mediareaktori provides video conversion services from other types of video files and from tape. Please contact our Ad Trafficking for more information. Ask also about our complete video banner solutions.

In-banner-video-ad must not start automatically. Video may start only after user action.

Video banner consists of two separate parts: 1) a banner file (SWF), downloaded during site download, and 2) a separately downloaded Flash video file (FLV). Other than Flash video files (FLV) are not accepted.

Maximum file sizes

  • 40 Kb for banner (SWF)
  • 2 Mb for video (FLV)
  • Bitrate (video+audio): 512 kbps or below
  • To make the ad play smoothly also on slower connections, it is important to aim for the smallest possible file size.
  • The video file (FLV) must be kept separate from the actual ad file (SWF).

Back-up image

  • A back-up image should be delivered in one of the following formats: GIF/JPG/PNG. This image will be shown in the place of the ad for those users who do not have the Flash player installed. It will also be used if technical problems occur.

Video start and stop

  • Videos that play automatically or other than Flash videos are not allowed.
  • Video download and show may start only after a) the user clicks some portions of the ad or b) with a 0,5 second delay after the user has moved the mouse pointer over the ad. Same rules apply with sound.
  • The user must be able to stop the video playback as follows: a) If the video starts by clicking the ad, it must stop with a stop button, and b) if the video starts by moving the mouse pointer over the ad, it must stop when the pointer is moved off the ad.
  • Audio: Audio level must start from 0 % and reach its maximum in 2 seconds.

Link

  • Link (clickTAG) action in Flash application needs to be implemented with following script:

    on(release){
    getURL(_root.clickTAG, "_blank")
    }

Additional instructions

  • Progressive downloading must be used for video banners. Max. 40kb of data is allowed to be downloaded for the Flash file (SWF) during the site download. Only a user action may activate the video file (FLV) download (clicking / mouse pointer over ad). Same rules apply to streaming solutions made with Flash loader.
  • Video must be placed inside the normal ad area.
  • The video file (FLV) may be distributed either through third party system or media's own ad management system. If the video file is distributed through third party system make sure that this system can handle the data load and user peaks of the media. If the video file is distributed through an ad management system. Flash creatives (SWF) should download the video from a local path with its correct name.
  • Other video banner instructions according to the information on normal Flash creatives.
  • Please note that video ads may not be accepted on all sites.
